Jianhui Qi research interests are the design and optimisation of supercritical CO2 radial inflow turbines; turbomachinery (axial and radial) for energy conversion, cooling and propulsion; modeling of fluid- and thermo- dynamic systems (mainly the sCO2 Brayton cycles); clean combustion and pollutant controlling for biomass fuels; and aero- and thero- dynamics for hypersonics flows.
Dr. Jianhui Qi was born on the November of 1989. He was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy of the first day of March, 2019. Dr. Jianhui Qi joined Shandong University as an associate researcher in Mechanical Engineering within the School of Energy and Power Engineering. He obtained a Bachelor and Master of Engineering Degree from Shandong University, China in 2012 and 2015, which was followed by a DPhil at the University of Queensland, majoring in turbomachinery.
Dr. Qi is a member of the Centre for Thermal Engineering and is engaged with both numerical and experimental research to power system, clean combustion and turbomachinery. Previously, Dr. Qi joint hte turbomachinery research at UQ in support of the Australian Solar Thermal Research Institute (ASTRI). Here in SDU, his research focuses on the development and application of the supercritical CO2 related technologies.
His research interests are:
Supercritical CO2 radial inflow turbine design and blade optimisation, with numerical simulation and experimentation.
Computational Design engineering. The development of automated design tools to imporve the power system stability and efficiency.
Clean combustion of biomass fuels, with advanced experimental and numerical technologies.
