Biography
Xiao-Tao Hao is now working as a Professor at School of Physics in Shandong University, China. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (IOP) and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in the UK, and has been selected for the inaugural National Overseas High-Level Youth Talent Program. He is also recognized as a Taishan Scholar Distinguished Professor in Shandong Province. He received his bachelor degree in physics in 1997 and PhD degree in condensed matter physics in 2002 at Shandong University. He was a research associate at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), Singapore from 2002 to 2005. He then moved as a JSPS fellow to Chiba University, Japan. He joined School of Chemistry at The University of Melbourne in 2007 and returned to Shandong University in 2012.
His primary research focuses on low-dimensional organic semiconductor physics, organic solar cells, and ultrafast spectroscopy. As principal investigator, he has led over 10 national and provincial-level research projects. With more than 300 publications in international journals, his work has received over 13,000 citations and maintains an h-index of 58. He holds 3 international invention patents and 4 national invention patents. He has delivered 40+ plenary and invited presentations internationally.
Currently serving as Regional Vice President of the Thin Films Society and Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne, he holds executive council positions in both the Shandong Optical Engineering Society and the National Electromagnetics Research Association for Higher Education. He serves on editorial boards for Scientific Reports and ChemPhysMater, while acting as Associate Editor for Chinese Journal of Chemistry and Youth Editorial Board Member for Chinese Chemical Letters. He has organized major events including the International Thin Films Conference (Organic Electronics Symposium Chair) and SPIE Nanophotonics Conference (Committee Member).
His honors include the Asian & Oceania Photochemistry Association APA Award, JSPS Fellowship (Japan), CSJ Distinguished Lectureship Award (Chemical Society of Japan), Shandong Provincial Natural Science Second Prize, Outstanding Graduate Supervisor awards from Shandong Province and Shandong University, as well as recognition for mentoring provincial/university-level outstanding doctoral dissertations.
