Deputy Director, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor at the Institute of Oceanography. He served as Chair of the Gordon Research Conferences (GRCs Chair, 2016-2018), Secretary-General of the Pan-China Ocean Carbon Alliance, Deputy Secretary-General of the Microbial Oceanography Branch of the Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, and Secretary of the Joint Working Group PICES-ICES WG46. His main research areas include the mechanisms of marine carbon sink processes and negative emission technologies, focusing on the microbial process mechanisms of marine organic carbon migration and transformation, the parameters of marine microbial respiration processes, the biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur elements mediated by marine microorganisms, and the development of joint organic-inorganic carbon sequestration technologies. He offers courses such as "Frontiers in Marine Science and Technology" and "Microbial Oceanography." He has published over 40 SCI papers as the first author, corresponding author, or co-author in leading international journals, including Science, Science Advances, ISME Journal, National Science Review, Water Research, Environmental Science & Technology, and mBio. He has led and participated in more than 10 provincial development projects, National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and National Key Research and Development Programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology, with approved funding exceeding 20 million RMB.
