RESEARCH INTEREST

Infectious diseases and host immune responses

My lab is interested in studying the molecular mechanisms underlying bacterial infection triggered host immune responses, and the modulation of innate immunity in host defense and immune evasion strategies of pathogens.  We are currently pursuing several avenues of research, such as:

1)    Understanding the different roles of Inflammation in response to extracellular versus intracellular bacterial infection.

2)    Assessing the dynamics of inflammatory response in sepsis and chronic inflammatory disorders, and Immune interference.

3)    Investigating the immune metabolism in host defense against bacterial infection.
