Zhou Tong, Ph.D. in Science, graduated from the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, specializing in the development of third-generation amplicon sequencing and analysis techniques. As a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, he focused on single-cell multi-omics data analysis. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Life Sciences, Shandong University, in the Biology Postdoctoral Research Station, under the supervision of Researcher Sun Lei. His work primarily involves the development of RNA secondary structure probing techniques. Utilizing machine learning methods, he developed highly accurate RNA structure signal analysis techniques and validated their effectiveness in large-scale data. He has published bioinformatics software such as itol.toolkit and VnFinder in journals like Bioinformatics.
