Biography

She is a distinguished researcher for geriatric nursing, especially focus on quality of life and care quality of elderly. She also worked on health behavior & health education and management of chronic conditions (e.g. Urinary Incontinence, COPD, and DM). In collaboration with Dr. Mary H. Palmer UNC@ Chapel Hill, USA, she developed and tested the Toileting Behaviors – Women’s Elimination Behaviors Scale (TB-WEB) to quantify behaviors women use for urinary elimination and to identify behaviors that could compromise bladder health. The TB-WEB has been translated into multiple languages (e.g. English, Swedish and Chinese). She is the principle investigator or co-investigator of more than 10 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, and other funding agencies. She published more than 100 papers, including 20 publications on high quality academic journals in English (e.g. International Journal of Nursing Studies, Journal of the American Medical Directors). She also serves on several journal editorial board (e.g. International Journal of Nursing Science, Chinese Nursing Research, Chinese Evidence-based Nursing et al.).


Dr. Wang received her B.S.N. degrees from the Peking University, her M.S. and Ph.D. from Shandong University. She had one-year visiting scholar experience at School of Nursing UNC Chapel Hill, USA
