Mingqiang YANG, was born on 9th June 1969, in Jinan, Shandong Province, P. R. China. He received his B.Eng. degrees in Radio Engineering Technology from Shandong University of Technology in 1992, M.Eng. degrees in Signal and Information Processing from Shandong University in 2000 and Ph.D degrees in Signal and Image Processing from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de RENNES (INSA de RENNES), FRANCE in 2008.
He was an engineer in Incorporation of Science and Technology Developing, Shandong University of Technology during 1992-1996. He was a lecturer in Department of Electronic Engineering, Shandong University of Technology during 1996-2000. He joined in School of Information Science and Engineering, Shandong University in 2000. He has been associate professor since 2008. He served as the vice head of Institute of Signal Processing and its Application Technology from 2008 to present.
He has published over 90 papers in technical journals and international conferences. His research fields cover Image Multiscale Geometric Analysis, 2-D Wavelet transform, Image Feature Extraction, Machine Vision and so on. In June-July 2010 and June-August 2012 he visited INSA de RENNES, FRANCE; From September 2014 to August 2015, he worked in Ottawa University as a research fellow.
