Professor Xiaolan ZHOU has been a professor in economics at Shandong University since 2023. She obtained a PHD in economics from Yale University, and a bachelor degree in economics and mathematics from Wuhan University. She is an economist with research interest in the fields of empirical industrial organization, microeconomics, international trade, and China economy. Her recent work has explored such topics as the competition structure, the welfare effect of industrial policies, antitrust, and price discrimination in various industries such as banking, automotive, and digital platforms. Her research papers has been published in such journals as Rand Journal of Economics, International Economic Review, Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Economics Letters, etc.
