Lele Liu does research on wetland ecology, especially for riverine plants, across multiple scales including molecular, physiological, community, ecosystem and landscape. He focuses on the distribution, dispersal, adaptation and ecological effects of different phylogeographic groups in a cosmopolitan wetland grass (Phragmites australis).
