Qingdao Institute for Theoretical and Computational Sciences (QiTCS) was founded in the end of 2018, with Wenjian Liu, chair professor of Shandong University and member of International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science, as the inaugural director. QiTCS will recruit up to 40 faculty members, all focusing on new theories, methods, algorithms, software, and applications in theoretical and computational chemistry, biophysics, materials, condensed matter, and mathematics. Currently QiTCS has 9 faculty members, one postdoc, 14 Ph D candidates, and 16 MSc candidates.
