PhD of Engineering, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shandong University, Distinguished young and middle-aged scholar of Shandong University, post-doctorate of Lehigh University. He is currently the Vice Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering of Shandong University, the deputy director of the “Key Laboratory of Laser and Infrared System Integration Technology of the Ministry of Education”, the executive director of the “Laser Society of Shandong Province”, the member of the sixth academic committee of the “National Key Laboratory of Electronic Testing Technology”, and the member of academic committee of “Provincial Key Laboratory of Semiconductor Laser Technology”. The first youth editorial board of the magazine "Defense Science & Technology", the second youth editorial board of “Chinese Laser Press”. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published more than 50 SCI papers. As the first inventor, he has obtained 7 invention patents and 3 utility model patents. In recent years, he has made more than 20 specially invited and oral reports at academic conferences. He has presided over 10 national-level research programs and more than 10 provincial or other research programs. He has won the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Award in 2010 and the second prize (third place) of Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award in Natural Science of Ministry of Education in 2012. Served as reviewer for National Natural Science Foundation of China and other projects, and reviewer for many international publications such as Opt. Lett., Opt. Express, IEEE Photonics Techno. Lett.
The main research areas are ocean optics technology, laser technology and applications, new optoelectronic materials and devices, and optoelectronic technology. The current specific research directions include high-energy pulsed solid-state lasers, high-power continuous-wave fiber lasers, high-power femtosecond fiber lasers, fiber material fabrication technology, single-frequency fiber lasers, distributed fiber sensing technology, optical systems and precision measurement technology, ultra material lens technology, etc.
