Wang Yilin, Ph.D., Professor, is an Outstanding Young Scholar of Shandong University (First Tier) and candidate for the National Excellent Young Scientists Program (Overseas). He obtained his undergraduate, master, and doctoral degrees at Shandong University. From 2021 to 2026, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and City University of Hong Kong, focusing on the theoretical, material, and technological research of road water-induced disaster evolution mechanisms, resilience enhancement, and safety early warning. He has led the Shandong Provincial Excellent Young Scientists Program (Overseas) and participated as a core member in multiple projects, including the Hong Kong Green Technology Fund (GTF), the Hong Kong Research Grants Council GRF, the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone Project, and sub-projects under the National Key R&D Program. In recent years, he has published nearly 30 SCI/EI papers in authoritative domestic and international journals such as Geotextiles and Geomembranes, Canadian Geotechnical Journal, and Chinese Journal of Highway and Transportation. He has also secured 21 authorized invention patents, participated in the formulation of 7 local standards and 3 group standards. His research has been widely applied in the construction of highways across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yellow River Basin, earning multiple awards, including the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the China Association of Transportation, the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation and Promotion Award, the First Prize for Shandong Civil Engineering and Architecture Science and Technology, the Second Prize for Shandong Highway Association Science and Technology, and the Second Prize for Science and Technology from the China Highway Society. Currently, he serves as a member of the Subgrade Engineering Professional Committee affiliated to the China Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, and has long acted as a corresponding reviewer for over a dozen industry-leading journals, including Geotextiles and Geomembranes, Measurement, Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, and Journal of Cleaner Production.
