Zhe Zhang


Biography

Zhe Zhang, Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor; Taishan Scholar of Shandong Province  (Youth Expert Program) , Group Leader of “Cellular metabolism and disease” Innovation Team of Shandong Province, Qilu Scholar of Shandong University.


Zhe received Ph.D. degree in Biology from Tsinghua University in July 2015. In October 2015, Zhe joined the department of Integrative Biology as a Postdoc fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. 

In October 2016, Zhe served in the Cardiovascular Institute as the Postdoc fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. 

In January 2021, Zhe joined the Department of Histology and Embryology, School of Basic Medicine, Shandong University, and was 

hired as a professor, doctoral supervisor and "Cheeloo Young Scholar".

 

The research group mainly uses CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology, combining with genetics, biochemistry, 

and molecular biology methods to study the molecular mechanisms of cell homeostasis and protein 

transportation that are closely related to human health. Our results have been published in journals such as Science Advances, 

Cell ResearchProtein & CellPNASPLoS GeneticsCell Reports and Cellular Signalling.
