Biography

Zhao Wang, male, born in Wuhu, Anhui Province in November 1996, member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Doctor of Medicine, Postdoctoral Fellow, Associate Professor of Shandong University, life member of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology. He is mainly engaged in the research and development of novel and highly effective antiviral drugs, using structure-based drug design strategies to construct the high-quality library of antiviral target compounds, and then discovering clinically valuable drug candidates through activity screening, structural biology studies and drug-likeness evaluation. In the past five years, he has published ten SCI papers as the first author/corresponding author and one Chinese core journal, and more than twenty SCI papers as the co-author. His research results have been consecutively published in the Top journals in the field of Medicine/Medicinal Chemistry, including J. Med. Chem. 2023 (first author), Acta Pharm. Sin. B 2024 (first author), J. Med. Virol. 2024a (first author), J. Med. Virol. 2024b (corresponding author), J. Med. Chem. 2022 (first author), J. Med. Chem. 2021 (first author), Eur. J. Med. Chem. 2020 (first author), with two J. Med. Chem. and one Bioorg. Med. Chem. papers were selected as cover articles, and one J. Med. Virol. paper was recommended by the editor-in-chief. The related scientific progress has been reported on the official websites of Shandong University in both Chinese and English, the official website of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the X-MOL academic website. In addition, as the project leader, he has received financial support from five projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, the Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province, and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He has co-authored the Chinese monograph “Structure-Based Anti-AIDS Drug Development”, and has been invited to serve as guest editor of the virology/chemistry SCI journals Viruses, Front. Chem., and Appl. Sci., and as invited reviewer of the SCI journals Curr. Med. Chem., Curr. Top Med. Chem., and Lett. Drug Des. Discov. He has won several national and provincial awards, including USERN Prize 2024 Young Scientist Nomination Award, China • Shandong Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Bronze Award, First Prize of Excellent Paper at the National New Medicine and Biopharmaceutical Postdoctoral Forum, National New Medical Technology Innovation Postdoctoral Forum Innovation Paper Award, National Baosteel Education Award, and Shandong Provincial Excellent Graduate.
