During his Ph.D. study, Dr Zhang's research focuses on the innovative application of ultra-high performance concrete as protective materials and structures. Below is a summary of Dr Zhang's research work at the National University of Singapore.
Dr Zhang also has collaboration with the following world-renowned researchers. Dr Leong Hien POH https://cde.nus.edu.sg/cee/staff/poh-leong-hien/ Dr Leong Hien POH is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore. He obtained his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from the National University of Singapore in 2003 and 2005 respectively. Before pursuing his PhD, he had worked in the Building and Construction Authority (Business Development Division). He received his Ph.D. in 2011 under a joint degree program between the National University of Singapore and the Eindhoven University of Technology. Dr Poh is interested in developing material models that bridge across the micro and macro scales – where fine-scale fluctuations are incorporated efficiently at the coarse-scale for engineering applications. His research topics include mechanics of materials, damage mechanics, higher-order continua, multi-scale methods and homogenization techniques. Dr Hongjian DU https://cde.nus.edu.sg/cee/staff/du-hongjian/ Dr Hongjian Du is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore. Dr Du has a strong research focus on (1) digital fabrication of building materials to increase the construction productivity and (2) development of low-carbon concrete to combat climate change. He specializes in microstructural characterization and properties assessment of concrete. He is now mentoring a few PhD/MEng students on interesting but challenging research topics including 3D concrete printing, nano-cement composites, waste reuse in concrete, etc. Dr Juhyuk MOON Dr Juhyuk Moon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Seoul National University. Dr Hui LI http://homepage.hit.edu.cn/lihui Dr Hui LI is a Changjiang Scholar and Professor in Civil Engineering and Mechanics at Harbin Institute of Technology. Her research interests are centered at the intelligence science and technology of civil engineering. She is one of the pioneers in machine learning-assisted structural health monitoring and machine learning-based wind engineering around the world. She is the co-author of more than 200 journal papers in authoritative journals, including Science, and author of more than 70 keynote lectures at various conferences. She is the PI of many big projects supported by Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China. She also serves as consultant of structural health monitoring systems for long-span bridges. She is the current president of International Association of Structural Control and Monitoring (IASCM) and ANCRiSST, and the chairman of Association of Structural Control and Monitoring of China. Dr Huigang XIAO http://homepage.hit.edu.cn/xiaohuigang Dr Huigang XIAO is a Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology.
