郭旭教授有多年海外研究工作经历，迄今的研究工作主要集中在数学建模、偏微分方程数值解、岩土工程交叉应用、金融数学等方面，入选山东省“泰山学者青年专家”和山东大学“齐鲁青年学者”；主持1项国家基金青年项目，参与研究美国国防部科研项目1项，香港研究资助局科研项目3项等；近3年先后发表和接收SCI论文十余篇，核心工作发表在《J. Comput. Phys.》《SIAM J. Sci. Comput.》《Quant. Finance》《Tunn. Undergr. Sp. Tech.》等国际著名刊物上；申请了4项中国发明专利。
