Short Bio




Yiran Shen (沈益冉) is a Full Professor at the School of Software, Shandong University. His research interests center on Virtual Reality and Pervasive Computing, spanning signal processing, machine learning, and security and privacy in virtual and mobile systems, with a strong emphasis on human-centered computing. By leveraging the multimodal sensing capabilities of advanced mobile and wearable devices, his work seeks to understand user behaviors in VR/AR/MR environments and enable innovative applications and services.


Before joining Shandong University, he conducted research at CSIRO, Australia, and the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, under the supervision of Prof. Chun Tung Chou and Prof. Wen Hu.


He currently serves as an Associate Editor for ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks (TOSN) and the CAVW Journal.


沈益冉,山东大学软件学院教授。主要研究方向为虚拟现实与泛在计算,涵盖信号处理、机器学习以及虚拟与移动系统中的安全与隐私,重点关注以人为中心的计算。他利用先进移动和可穿戴设备的多模态感知能力,致力于理解VR/AR/MR环境下的用户行为,并推动创新应用与服务的发展。


在加入山东大学之前,他曾在澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织(CSIRO)和新加坡-麻省理工学院科研联盟(SMART)从事科研工作。他于澳大利亚新南威尔士大学(UNSW)获得博士学位,师从周春同教授和胡文教授。

目前,他担任 ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks (TOSN)CAVW Journal 的Associate editor。
