Deputy Director, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program at the Institute of Marine Science and Technology. He served as Chair of the Gordon Research Conferences (GRCs Chair, 2016-2018), Secretary-General of the Pan-China Ocean Carbon Alliance, Deputy Secretary-General of the Microbial Oceanography Branch of the Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, and Secretary of the Joint Working Group PICES-ICES WG46. His main research areas include the mechanisms of marine carbon sink processes and negative emission technologies, focusing on the microbial process mechanisms of marine organic carbon migration and transformation, the parameters of marine microbial respiration processes, the biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur elements mediated by marine microorganisms, andand the development and environmental impact assessment of seawater alkalinization technologies for carbon sequestration enhancement. He has published over 50 SCI papers including Science, Science Advances, ISME Journal, National Science Review, Water Research, Environmental Science & Technology, and mBio. He has led and participated in more than 10 provincial development projects, National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and National Key Research and Development Programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology, with approved funding exceeding 40 million RMB.
