Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Physics, Shandong University, a Distinguished Expert of the Taishan Scholar Program of Shandong Province, an Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Scholar of Shandong University, a Young Expert of the Taishan Scholar Program of Shandong Province, and a Qilu Young Scholar of Shandong University.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Shandong University in 2009 and his PhD from Shandong University in 2014. After completing his PhD, he conducted postdoctoral research at Jacobs University and Leipzig University in Germany. In 2017, he joined the School of Physics at Shandong University. He has long been engaged in condensed matter physics and computational research, combining first-principles calculations and tight-binding model methods to study the spin properties of two-dimensional magnetism and the coupling of spin with valley, topological, and other properties. In recent years, as first/corresponding author, he has published 48 SCI papers in authoritative journals with an impact factor >10, as well as 14 papers in Nano Lett., 36 in Phys. Rev. Lett./B/Materials/Applied, and 11 in Appl. Phys. Lett. His research has been widely recognized by international peers; his papers have received more than 17,000 SCI citations in total, 10 papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers, and his personal H-index is 70.
For six consecutive years (2021–2026), he has been listed among Elsevier’s Chinese Highly Cited Researchers (Physics) and the “World’s Top 2% Scientists.” He received the Second Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education (3rd of 8, 2017) and the Second Prize of the Shandong Provincial Natural Science Award (1st of 4, 2024).
In 2021, he was recognized as the leader of a “Youth Innovation Team” in Shandong higher education institutions. In 2023, he was awarded the title of “Young Expert of the Taishan Scholar Program” and selected by Materials Horizons as an “Emerging Investigator.” In 2025, he was appointed a member of the 10th Editorial Board of the journal Physics Experiment, and in 2026 he was selected as a Distinguished Expert of the Taishan Scholar Program of Shandong Province (through rolling support under the Taishan Scholar Young Expert Program). He has led 9 research projects at the provincial/ministerial level or above (including 4 national-level projects) and, as a core member, participated in one international collaborative project funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC). At the invitation of the internationally renowned publisher WILEY-VCH, he independently wrote two core chapters for its professional books, systematically reviewing progress in magnetic modulation of two-dimensional quantum materials.
In talent development, among the graduate students he has supervised, one was selected for the National Overseas High-level Young Talent Program, three received Shandong University President’s Scholarships, 14 person-times received the National Scholarship for Graduate Students, one received the Shandong Provincial Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, one received the First Prize of the Shandong Provincial Graduate Outstanding Research Achievement Award, and one received the Baosteel Scholarship for Graduate Students. Among the undergraduate teams he supervised, two students received the Shandong University President’s Scholarship (Research Special Category) for innovative research results.
