On November 26, 20, at the invitation of Professor Wu Dalei, Professor Jinbo Yang and Chenyang Zhao visited the National Key Laboratory and gave speeches entitled “JAK-STAT Signaling Pathway and Drug Development” and “I-IFN respectively role in the repair of acute liver injury”. The lecture was chaired by Professor Dalei Wu.
Professor Jinbo Yang introduced the development process of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, described his recent research on the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, and elaborated on the drug development ideas related to the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Professor Chenyang Zhao shared the principle of action of type I interferon and its role in the repair of acute liver injury.
Dr. Jinbo Yang is a distinguished expert of “Taishan Scholars” in Shandong Province. He is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Medicine, Ocean University of China, chief scientist of Qingdao Institute of Marine Biomedicine, and director of the marine innovative drug screening and evaluation platform of Qingdao National Laboratory of Marine Science and Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in molecular biology from the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2001 to 2015, he studied and worked at Cleveland Clinic. In July 2007, he was hired as the “Cuiying Distinguished Teaching Technique” and doctoral supervisor of Lanzhou University, and established the “Institute of Cancer Biology and Pharmaceutical Research of Lanzhou University” and served as the director. In July 2016, he joined the School of Medicine, Ocean University of China, Qingdao Institute of Marine Biomedicine and Qingdao National Laboratory of Marine Science and Technology. His research interests include tumor biology, anti-tumor drug screening and molecular pharmacology, and drug development targeting JAK-STAT signaling. In 2008, he was selected as the “New Century Outstanding Talent” by the Ministry of Education. In 2016, he was selected as “Qingdao Innovation Leading Talent” and in 2017, he was selected as “Aoshan Talent” of Marine National Laboratory Outstanding scientist and distinguished expert of “Taishan Scholar” in Shandong Province. In recent years, as the project leader, he has presided over the key projects of international cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the major scientific and technological special projects of the National Health Commission “Major New Drug Creation”, the national natural surface project, and the “Blue Drug Bank” project of the major scientific and technological innovation project of Shandong Province Cell Res、J Hepatology、PNAS. He has published more than 30 papers in other journals and obtained a number of national authorized invention patents.
Dr. Chenyang Zhao is a professor at the School of Medicine, Ocean University of China, a project scientist at Qingdao Institute of Marine Biomedicine, and a marine innovative drug screening and evaluation platform Pl at Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology. Recipient of the “Talent Project” program of Ocean University of China. He graduated from Lanzhou University in 1998 with a major in biotechnology, received a Ph.D. in cell biology from Lanzhou University in 2003, and a Ph.D. in biology and pharmacology from the University of Paris VII, France in 2004. From 2005 to 2016, he was engaged in research on the regulation and polarization of macrophage gene expression at Cleveland Clinic. His main research interests are the phenotypic regulation of macrophages and the regulation of cytokine expression in the inflammation and tumor microenvironment. Corresponding author or first author in Journal of Biological Chemistry, Journal of Immunology, Frontier in Immunology, He has published more than 40 SCI papers in mainstream journals such as Carbohydrate Polymers.
