Biography                                                                   

Lei Ye received his PhD in Biochemical engineering from Tianjin University in 2016. Upon finishing a postdoctoral training in Bioengineering at the University of Washington at Professor Buddy D Ratner’s lab, in 2019, Dr. Ye joint the faculty of Shandong University. He was selected for the Shandong University Young Scholar’s Future Plan in 2020. As the project leader, 6 projects are under investigation, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province etc., and participated in 1 JDRF project in the United States (2016-2018). Dr. Ye has a strong publication list in international academic journals, such as ACS NanoJournal of Materials Chemistry A, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Materials Today Nano, Acta Biomaterialia, Journal of Nanobiotechnology, etc., and obtained 1 issued patents.


Research Interests                                                                          

Ye’s research focuses on the design and synthesis of novel functional zwitterionic materials for biomedical and implant device applications.

Ø  Biosurface: surface modification for implant devices, such as mesh for hernia repair;

Ø  Drug delivery: injectable hydrogel for local drug delivery, such as eye, lung, and cancer;

Ø  Clinical application: prevention of postoperative tissue adhesion.
