Our laboratory will focus on identifying new regulatory molecules in tissue fibrosis and neurodegenerative diseases through the nematode's forward (EMS mutagenesis) and reverse genetics methods (RNAi library screening and CRISPR/Cas9 genome targeted editing). And using in vivo microscopic imaging, Chip-seq and yeast two hybridization technologies to systematically analyze the subcellular localization and dynamic changes of these regulatory factors during extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and neuron degeneration process, to clarify the in vivo functions and molecular regulation mechanisms. Combining the results from C. elegans with human cell line and mouse models, our lab anticipates to verify the function of regulatory factors, reveal the molecular regulatory network of extracellular matrix remodeling and neuron degradation.
