Dr. Hongwei Chu was born in Shandong in December, 1986. He received his B. Eng. degree in electronics science and technology in 2008, M. Eng. degree in optics engineering in 2011, Ph. D. degree in optics engineering in 2016 all from Shandong University, Jinan, China. From Feb. 2011 to May 2012, he served as an engineer in Shandong Power Equipment Company, State Grid Group, Jinan, China, in charge of the research and development of fiber current / voltage transformer (OFCT / OFPT) for the ultrahigh voltage / current grid. Since September 2016, he worked as a postdoc for the research and development of the photoinjector laser, laser heater and the deep ultraviolet generation based on the nonlinear frequency conversion in Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), Hamburg, Germany. In September 2018, he joined Shandong University as a senior researcher. His research interests include the ultrafast lasers and amplifiers, nonlinear frequency generation and the laser applications, optical materials and devices.
