My principal research interest lies on the study of phenomena resulting from the interaction of light and matter in diverse micro-/nano-structures, and the development of novel photonic devices with compact geometries and miniaturized footprints based on such effects. Some of the topics currently being investigated include:
1. Crystalline waveguide-based lasers and nonlinear optical frequency converters.
2. Ferroelectric thin films for integrated optics.
3. Femtosecond laser and energetic ion induced material modifications in crystalline materials.
4. Mie-resonant dielectric metasurfaces for nonlinear nanophotonics.
5. Plasmonic nanostructures for strong light-matter interaction.
