The research in the Xie Group lies at the interface of chemistry and biology with a focus on the chemoproteomics strategy for lipid droplet proteins and targeted covalent inhibitors. Xie has attracted several major research grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Taishan Scholars Youth Expert Program and Excellent Young Scientists Fund of Shandong Provinc (山东省优青海外&泰山青年), and the Program of Qilu Young Scholars of Shandong University（齐鲁青年第一层次）.
