Personal Information

Prof. /Dr. Chuanbao Jia,  Full Professor in Shandong University, Cyrus Tang Scholar, “Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Scholar” of Shandong University. His research interest covers the “innovative and intelligent confined arc welding/additive manufacturing technologies”. He is a Council Member of the 11th Committee of Chinese Welding Society, a senior member of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and a member of American Welding Society (AWS). As the Principle Investigator, he has hosted over 10 national and provincial scientific research grants, including 3 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published 42 journal papers as the First/Corresponding author. As the first inventor, he has been authorized 18 Chinese Invention Patents, and 1 United States patent. He was awarded the A. F. Davis Silver Medal Award from the American Welding Society (No. 1).  As the keynote/invited speaker, he gave presentations in international and national conferences for 6 times, and served as the reviewer of more than 20 international journals, such as Weld J, Materials & Design, J Mater Process Tech, Journal of Physics D, etc.
